Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.
Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!
How You Can Get Involved:
Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.
Teach others to crochet and share your skills.
Help distribute crocheting materials to participants.
Collaborate with your group or organization to crochet pieces.
Form a crochet group with friends or partners.
Sponsor a pillar to support the project financially.
Donate yarn to ensure we have enough materials.
Contribute to the GoFundMe to help cover project costs.

Kids Got Talent is the signature fundraising event for the Children’s Safety Village of Belleville. This exciting and heartwarming talent showcase celebrates the incredible abilities of youth aged 4 to 17 from across our region. Singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, comedians, and other young performers take the stage in a joyful celebration of talent, creativity, and confidence.
The event is inclusive of all skill levels and open to children of all abilities. It offers a rare opportunity for local youth to shine in a professional theatre setting while their friends, family, and community cheer them on.
Proceeds from Kids Got Talent directly support the Children’s Safety Village and its mission to provide free safety education programs on topics like fire safety, street safety, internet safety, and more. Every ticket purchased and every donation made goes toward creating a safer future for the children in our community.

All-ages – from toddlers to grandmas! No experience necessary – super beginner-friendly, open and welcoming. Lesson 7-8pm, party 8pm til late!
