All in, Al Fresco – Week 6

By Melody Pereira

Welcome back to All in, Al Fresco! My name is Melody (she/her) and I am the Downtown District’s Marketing Assistant Summer Student for 2021. Follow along with me each week for updates as we dive into the details of all the exciting things that will be happening at our hugely successful summer event – Al Fresco.

Al Fresco is back for its second year this summer until August and we are so excited for all the fun to be had. Al Fresco means “done or eaten in the open air” and this signature event is designed so that visitors can enjoy the summer rays while supporting the downtown business and promoting community!

So, get ready to come do it Al Fresco in the District with me!

Painted Pianos Are Back!

It’s your turn to create some music in the air in the Downtown District! Find your rhythm on one of our funky and fun painted pianos and have your opportunity to play us a tune under the sun. Stop by Century Village each day for the rest of the summer if you’d like to put your music talent to the test, or just simply enjoy the beautiful artwork that covers these pianos. This year we have not one, but TWO painted pianos for you to enjoy! Can’t wait to see you there and put some true talent on display in the Downtown District. Read more about the pianos here.

Due to the forecasted weather today and staff shortages tomorrow, we won’t be hosting Free Games on Front this week!
Join Melody next week on Thursday and Friday from 3-5pm for Ladder Ball and Giant Jenga provided by Scalliwag Toys.
See you next week!

Light Up Your Life!

They’re light, and they’re bright, and they’re HERE in the Downtown District! Our 5 magnificent light installations line the streets of the downtown for Al Fresco this summer. The perfect spots to relax, “hang out”, and take Instagram-worth photos, you don’t want to miss them. Come out and be WOWed by the massive PLAY sign at the corner of Front & Pinnacle, our Al Fresco archway at Bridge & Front, and the glowing walk-through tunnel placed at Victoria and Front. To continue to promote community safety, you can also find hand sanitizer stations at each installation. Tag @downtownbelleville in your pictures and show us how you #doitalfresco.
