Welcome back to All in, Al Fresco! My name is Melody (she/her) and I am the Downtown District’s Marketing Assistant Summer Student for 2021. Follow along with me each week for updates as we dive into the details of all the exciting things that will be happening at our hugely successful summer event – Al Fresco.
Al Fresco is back for its second year this summer until August and we are so excited for all the fun to be had. Al Fresco means “done or eaten in the open air” and this signature event is designed so that visitors can enjoy the summer rays while supporting the downtown business and promoting community!
So, get ready to come do it Al Fresco in the District with me!
Bringing the Runway to Belleville
We are so excited to announce that we will be bringing the RUNWAY to the streets of the Downtown District on Saturday, August 28th! Mode Elle Model & Talent Agency has planned an amazing fashion show for us in the Front Street closure to share some fashion and modelling in the sun. Starting outside of the Geen’s building at 273 Front Street and walking North towards Victoria Avenue, models will be showcasing looks from 7 Downtown businesses in 30 minute shows at 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Take Photos in the Chair
Our GIANT Downtown District purple chair is out and about for all your photo opportunities. Take the time to stop by Downtown, hop up in the chair, and impress all your friends. Be sure to tag us @downtownbelleville on Facebook and Instagram to show your Downtown District pride!
Play us a tune!
Come unleash your musical side with us in the Downtown District this summer. We have not one, but two, beautifully painted pianos located in Century Village for your enjoyment. Be sure to sanitize your hands before and after playing and get ready to WOW those around you with your musical talent. Not so musically inclined? Come out to the square to check out the art on the pianos and cheer on those performing!

Local artist Katrien Reed designed these wonderful shirts paying homage to the Moira River flowing behind the historic building fronts of the Downtown District.

Park ‘n’ Go
looking for somewhere to park to enjoy all the end-of-summer Al Fresco festivities? Look no further. There are just under 1000 parking spaces located within a three-block radius of the downtown core.
There is also 1-hour free parking on Front Street, 2-hour metered street parking throughout the downtown area, and a number of off-street parking lots. For more information about parking, please visit our website here.
